About this blog

This is a personal blog – me writing what I’m thinking about and caring about. I reserve the right to change my mind about something at any time without prior notice. I try to be sensitive to others and the struggles they face in life, but I’m bound to hurt someone from time-to-time. I’ve never regularly used trigger warnings or text descriptions for images in my posts before, so there will be times I forget to do this. I would greatly appreciate someone letting me know so I can make the appropriate changes. We are people, imperfect. With a will to apologize and do better, you are welcome here.

I aspire for this to be a Safe Space. Discussion is encouraged. Aggressive, trolling, threatening, and abusive comments will not be tolerated. The comments section of my blog is not a place where you can say anything you’d like without being held accountable for your words. If I delete your comment and you simply must say something, I suggest starting your own blog, twitter, etc.

I’ll do my best to credit and link the creator of any art I use. If something isn’t sourced and you know whose work it is, please let me know so I can fix it. If you are the creator of a piece I used and you want it to be removed, let me know by e-mail and I will do so as soon as possible.

I intend to delve into subjects and ideas that are not basic “101” kinds of things, but I don’t mind trying to answer any questions anyone happens to throw my way. I would appreciate it, however, if you would do a little poking around first. There are a lot of 101 resources for the topics I’m likely to write about out there, and most of them are probably more readable than I tend to be. If you need a hand finding a resource or would still like to discuss it after that, I’d be more than happy to do so. I’d like to include a list of books and articles I mention in a post, so it’ll be easier to search for more information about them. This will be at the end of the post. Books may have a link to a site where you can purchase them. If you live near a locally-owned/independent bookstore, I’d like to encourage you to buy from them whenever it’s doable for you.

I recommend these resources for “101” reading needs. I disagree with some of the assertions and ideas found in them, but overall I think they’re a good jumping-off point. I’ll add more as I remember or find them. You can also find some pretty great stuff on the blogroll! Suggestions for either are always appreciated.
